How do mood rings change colors?

i have this mood ring that changes into all different really nice colors.

does anyone know how mood rings actually change colors?

is it because of the temperature of your finger or like how is reflects of light or does it really have to do with your mood? How do mood rings change colors?
the color change is just a chemical reaction to the temperature of your skin. How do mood rings change colors?
The chemicals in a mood ring are sensitive to heat. Mood rings are usually inacurate though, as one: a lot of other things can affect your skin temperature, such as the air temperature / humidity, and two: you can't judge mood just by your skin temperature. Mood rings are very pretty and amusing though.
Mood rings change from temperature... But actually, they do work. Your body temperature changes slightly from mood to mood. For instance, if you're cool I think it means you're relaxed... If you're neutral, it'll be medium temperature... If you're hotter, you're angry. I'm not totally sure, you can check with your mood rings colors and stuff. Like, try putting your hand in a fridge for a little bit (not too long) and then putting on the ring. What emotion do you get then? :)
It doesn't have anything to do with the mood.

It's just the heat of your body. It's supposed to work like if you're really hot you're mad and it turns a certain colour, and if you're cool then you're relaxed and it turns another colour.

That's why when there's no heat at all (when you first buy them) they are black.
The key ingredient in ';Mood Rings'; %26amp; all types of ';Mood Jewelry'; that makes the color changes is that of ';Liquid Crystal';; which changes colors primarily based on your body's surface-temperature %26amp; somewhat the surrounding temperature as well. ';Mood Rings'; are only remotely accurate at best in determining your ';Mood';.
Because of the temperature or heat of your skin. It doesn't really have to do with your mood but it's really fun to look at it and see what mood youre in!!!

good luck have fun

thanksss
It's absolutely all about heat. If you take it and rub the underside of the stone, it will change colour almost instantly; the more friction and subsequent heat you create, the more the colour will change.
Unfortunately, mood rings do not really play into your emotions. They only detect the heat from your skin and change color according to that.
You're right it has something do with you're temperature, but it can be right cause you're temperature does change with you're mood i think.
Nope, it's just a temperature indicator. We have strips at the hospital of disposible thermomiters that do the same thing.
its nothing really. it changes with your heat. when ur angry, you turn warmer and the mood ring changes color. i dipped mine in ice water and it turned orange!!! LOL

=D

Yes its to do with heat, the whole concept of the ring reflecting your mood is a gimmick.

the temperature of your finger
It's heat and pressure, I think. I believe it affects the mood ring when you squeeze it really hard.
I think it's because of the temperature.
