Our mood may suddenly change by an external signal. Please explain this phenomenon?

When we see an old friend, we suddenly feel excited. When your phone rings and you notice it comes from your family, your mood also changes in an instant. How to interpret these phenomena? Our mood may suddenly change by an external signal. Please explain this phenomenon?
Like the pavlovs dogs experiment we are conditioned by the bells - From childhood certain sounds like end of day bell at school menas freedom.

Expectations are hard wired - Operant conditioning is the hardest to break becasue the expectations that soemthing exciting will happen when the friends face appears will continue even if being with the friend becomes boring soemtimes.

You can condition yourself - thats how hypnotism works linking a suggestion to an action or snappinga rubber band on your wrist. Our mood may suddenly change by an external signal. Please explain this phenomenon?
The relative sections of our brains are probably hardwired to release certain mood-altering chemicals...

I don't know.
